Overview

CQB Level 3 – Pistol is an advanced course designed for students who have completed CQB Level 1 or possess equivalent training and experience. This course expands on individual and team-based close quarters concepts, emphasizing decision-making, communication, and rifle employment in dynamic, confined environments.


Training focuses on refining techniques under increased stress, reduced time, and more complex problem sets. Students will operate at higher speeds while maintaining muzzle discipline, target discrimination, and accountability for every round fired.

Prerequisites

  • CQB Level 2 (or approved equivalent)
  • Solid Pistol safety and gun-handling skills
  • Ability to work safely in close proximity to others

  • Improve efficiency and confidence in confined spaces
  • Develop smoother transitions between speed and control
  • Enhance team coordination and communication
  • Apply CQB principles under realistic pressure

Course Content


1. CQB Fundamentals Review

  • Safety considerations specific to advanced CQB
  • CQB principles: speed, surprise, controlled violent action
  • Individual responsibility within a team environment
  • Review of Pistol setup for CQB (Optic, belt, light, holster)

2. Advanced Pistol Employment in CQB

  • Pistol management in tight and unconventional spaces
  • Muzzle awareness and weapon retention in close proximity
  • Transitions and problem-solving inside structures
  • Use of cover vs. concealment indoors

3. Movement & Positioning

  • Advanced movement techniques around corners and thresholds
  • Working angles and depth in rooms and hallways
  • Managing dead space and unknowns
  • Maintaining momentum without outrunning your support

4. Team-Based Concepts

  • Two- and three-person team dynamics
  • Verbal and non-verbal communication
  • Sector responsibility and overlap
  • Flow and handoff of responsibilities during movement

5. Decision-Making Under Stress

  • Threat vs. non-threat identification
  • Processing information quickly in confined spaces
  • Accountability in high-risk environments
  • Managing cognitive load while maintaining safety

6. Scenario-Based Application

  • Structured CQB problem sets
  • Increasing complexity and reduced predictability
  • Emphasis on teamwork, communication, and control
  • Instructor-led debriefs after each iteration

Training Format

  • Classroom instruction (will be at shoot house)
  • Dry runs and walk-throughs
  • Live-fire (if applicable and range/facility approved)
  • Scenario-based repetitions with feedback

Equipment Requirements

  • Pistol (semi-auto) with belt & holster
  • Optic and/or iron sights (zeroed)
  • Weapon-mounted light (recommended)
  • Magazine pouches / chest rig or plate carrier
  • Eye & ear protection
  • Duty or training ammunition (NO AMMUNITION FOR THIS CLASS / SIMS ONLY)
  • Water & snacks

REFUND POLICY

Deposit is non-refundable, it can be transferred to another class, however if cancelling 3 days prior to class, or no-show day of class the deposit is forfeit.
