This 6-hour course will introduce the basics of the hand held plasma cutter. Taking place on two consecutive evenings (Mar 3 and 4, 6-9pm each day), the session will overview how to safely set-up, operate and troubleshoot common issues that may occur while operating this machine. Students will be provided with the opportunity to practice techniques for making precise cuts and be supported in the design and creation of their own personal project. In addition to using the plasma cutter, this class will also go over how to properly use the angle grinder in order to finish the created projects.

Both the angle grinder and plasma cutter produce sparks and loud sounds that can be startling for folks with noise sensitivity. Personal Protection Equipment will be provided. 

Students attending this class must wear closed toe shoes, long sleeves, and pants made of natural fibers. Denim, cotton and leather is encouraged, avoiding any synthetic materials or mesh.The class will take place in a shop setting which will involve loud sounds and standing on concrete flooring.
