Bi-Monthly Mentorship Intensive: Industrial Athlete
This course is available for OSS Employees (PT, PTA, ATC, OT, COTA) and Traveler Staff with active contracts. Traveler Staff attendance is subjective to class size prioritizing OSS Employees.
By the end of this 8 CEU course, the attendee will be familiar with:
- Discuss and explain the differences in industrial rehabilitation vocabulary (Seldom, Occasional, Frequent, Constant, Maximum Lift, Heavy Lift, Low Lift)
- Discuss and explain with patients the unique aspects of industrial rehabilitation programs (Work Conditioning, Work Hardening, Functional Capacity Exams, Progressive Goal Attainment Program)
- Distinguish the roles of different providers involved with industrial rehabilitation case management (Attending Provider, Claims Manager, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor)
- Evaluate an individual's lifting capacity by performing a lifting assessment.
- Evaluate an individual's functional capacity by performing a functional tolerance test
- Demonstrate the ability to read a job analysis and be able to compare lifting and functional capacity to the job analysis and identify gaps between the two.
- Formulate a properly filled out Comagine Authorization Form
- Perform a top tier SMFA screen
- Effectively identify potential industrial rehabilitation candidates and properly utilize the INDUS task type
Coffee and light snacks will be provided, and the attendees will break for an hour independent lunch.
