The Thoughtful Home - A Morning with the Author
Please join us for a special workshop for women with Dia Boyle, the author of The Thoughtful Home. Unlike many other books on homemaking, Dia's new book focuses less on her own particular strategies for homemaking and more on the philosophical and spiritual essence of what a home is and does, and thus how to weigh our own choices and priorities about our home environments and lifestyles. She speaks to all people to whom a home is entrusted, not only those who consider it their full time vocation. Her approach makes space for the diversity of families, professions and obligations, phases of life, living spaces, etc, that defines the home life for which each of these homemakers must care.
As Marcie Stokman, the founder of Well-Read mom, has said, “Dia Boyle awakens us to the quality of life in our homes and the potential for that quality to be more inviting and enriching. In an age when it is all too easy to give our children things and schedule in activities, we are shown the possibility of a home where each family member is contemplated, received, and welcomed. ”
This event will feature a talk by Dia, then time for audience Q&A and discussion and brainstorming among small groups.
