Mawddach Estuary 2026, North Wales
A week of varied walking ranging from coast to mountain in the beautiful south of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). We will be staying in a substantial family house occupying a stunning position overlooking the Mawddach Estuary. Mawddach Crescent was completed in 1902 intended to be the start of a holiday resort but the surrounding land proved unsuitable for further development. Normally let on AirBnB, this house is available to us by private arrangement. Dolgellau is a 9 mile drive away while Barmouth is just a 2 mile walk across the wooden railway bridge that spans the estuary. This is a moderate event but towards the harder end of this grade if we make the most of mountain walks, such as climbing Cadair Idris, which would certainly be in the hard grade. There are also walks along the beautiful estuary and possibilities of estuary bathing from the house or from sandy beaches such as Fairbourne about 2 miles away. In the evenings there will be an opportunity to share some time together with the Lord and His word.
We shall be group catering and taking it in turns to provide an evening meal. There will be an additional charge for the food and other group expenses and a small extra charge for single occupancy of double rooms, payable at the event. Rooms are either twin or double.
Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
