Spring Kids Camp: Creative Journaling

During this Creative Journaling camp, campers will explore art, self-expression, and storytelling through a playful, hands-on journaling experience. This week-long camp blends drawing, collage, color, writing, and mixed media techniques to help campers build confidence, express emotions, and turn their ideas into meaningful visual journals—no art experience required! Each day introduces new creative tools and “superpowers” that your child can continue using long after camp ends.

Camp runs M-F from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Campers may be dropped off after 9:30am in the morning and picked up before 3:30pm. Staff will remain on site throughout drop-offs and pick-ups. Snacks are provided, but please send your camper with a cold lunch. Lunch is between 12-1 on site.

Automatic discounts applied for siblings. Reach out to Jordyn at education@vergecontemporary.org regarding potential scholarship opportunities!

About the Instructor

Khalilah Taylor is a Sacramento-based collage artist and the founder of Artful Euphoria. She is widely recognized for her vibrant, colorful compositions that center joy, celebration, and representation within the Black community. Her work serves as a visual love letter to Black girls and women—radiant, unapologetic, and rooted in the belief that they deserve to see themselves reflected powerfully in art. Since debuting in her first art show in 2018, Khalilah has expanded her creative practice and entrepreneurial reach through Artful Euphoria. Her style blends bold color palettes with layered imagery to create pieces that are as emotionally resonant as they are visually striking. Her work invites us into a world where Black joy is celebrated as a revolution and beauty is reclaimed with pride.
Community Standards
In order to create a safe and encouraging environment for creativity, we ask that all attendees comply with Verge’s non-discrimination policy which prohibits unlawful discrimination and harassment based on race, color, gender, gender identity/expression, age, physical or mental disability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or any other consideration made unlawful by the state or local laws. We also ask that everyone contribute positively to a safe and comfortable environment for all attendees. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who does not abide by our community standards stated above.

Cancellation and Refunds Policy

Verge Center for the Arts reserves the right to cancel classes, to change instructors, and to make other changes that may become necessary to ensure a quality experience for participants. In the event that a class is canceled, we will contact all registrants and offer the option of transferring to another available session, or receiving a full refund.

If a participant wishes to withdraw from a class, they must do so in writing at least seven days prior to the first class meeting to receive a full refund, less a $25 processing fee. Withdrawals occurring within seven days prior to the first class meeting will receive a refund of 50% of the total class fee or may transfer to a class of equal or lesser value. Participants are only eligible for one transfer per registration and must get it approved by Verge staff. No refunds or transfers are given to withdrawals that occur 24 hours or less before the class begins. Membership fees are non-refundable. Please note we are unable to issue cash refunds.
