Junior Athlete Development

At this level divers continue learning new skills and improve technique. Divers may be invited to compete at club level competitions, and perhaps to compete regionally once they have mastered the required dives. For those who are planning on staying a recreational diver, this is an ideal class. Requirements for entry: Recommendation from coach + at least two of the following: 101C (front dive tuck), 102C (front somersault tuck), 201A (back dive straight), 401C (inward dive tuck)

A unique opportunity for our JAD divers! This class occurs on Fridays, and the location/time varies between the Swimplex in Waterloo (4:00 to 6:00 pm) and the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre in Brantford (5:30 to 7:30 pm). This class gives our JAD divers a chance to work with our National Level coach and utilize the full tower complex in Brantford! Due to pool unavailability, one Waterloo class will take place at our dryland training center in Waterloo (486 Weber Street North, Unit 101).

Friday classes from February 13 to April 17 inclusive. NO CLASS March 27 (Phoenix meet) & April 3 (Good Friday).

Waterloo location dates, class runs 4:00 to 600 pm: March 6, March 20 (DRYLAND), April 10

Brantford location dates, class runs 5:30 to 7:30 pm: February 13, 20 & 27, March 13, April 17

Recreational Diver Insurance Fee: In addition, there is a recreational diver insurance fee payable directly to Diving Canada/Dive Ontario (approx. $35, but subject to change). Families MUST register their diver as a KW Diving Club "club member", and "recreational athlete/recreational diver/diver recreational", in the H2OReg system, and pay the DPC/DO insurance fee directly through the system. This must be done prior to their first class, or your diver will not be allowed to participate until this registration is complete. The link into H2OReg for the 2025-26 season will be emailed to only those families who still need to register for the 2025-26 season.
