Coil building a terracotta pot is an age old process that will bring you back to your roots and give you a sense of timelessness. We’ll be using a low-fire terracotta clay to handbuild our pots with coils and from there buff it out for finish and paint decorative design on the outside to really give it that ownership.

This class is intended to educate on coil building but also give us time to enjoy the “flow” of hand building and find a stillness and patience in our making process. We’ll do it all by hand!

The first week we’ll build our pots and the second week we’ll buff and paint them.

Cost of terracotta low fire clay, use of tools and glazes are included with the class fee.

Firings are included up to 300 cubic inches. Larger or additional pieces will cost .08 per cubic inch. 

We will not be able to offer make-up classes. Please note, this class is for adults ages 17 and up. 

Cancellations 15 days or more prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund minus a 5% processing fee. Cancellations up to 7 days prior will receive 50% back.

Cancellations made the week of the class will not be refunded.
