Camp Branches – Summer Day Camp (Ages 4–12)

Camp Branches is an outdoor-focused summer day camp located at Heber Down Conservation Park in Whitby, Ontario, designed to meet campers where they are—whether they’re just beginning their outdoor journey or ready for bigger wilderness challenges.

Our program is divided into two age-based groups, each with age-appropriate activities, challenges, and support, while sharing camp traditions and a strong sense of community.

🌲 Jr. Cubs (Ages 4–7)

The Jr. Cubs program is thoughtfully designed for younger campers, focusing on guided exploration, creative play, and confidence-building in a safe and supportive environment.

Jr. Cubs campers will:

• 🪵 Earn Branches toward their Survivalist Badge through fun, age-appropriate challenges
• 🐾 Explore nature through guided hikes, scavenger hunts, and creek adventures
• 🎨 Enjoy arts, crafts, and hands-on projects that spark creativity
• 🤝 Build friendships with caring staff at a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
• 🎉 Join camp-wide events such as Survivor Day, Camp Olympics, and Theme Days

🐻 Sr. Bears (Ages 8–12)

The Sr. Bears program is designed for older campers who are ready for greater independence, leadership opportunities, and advanced outdoor challenges.

Sr. Bears campers will:

• 🪵 Earn Branches toward their Survivalist Badge by mastering wilderness skills and team strategy
• 🧭 Practice advanced outdoor skills including orienteering, shelter building, and survival scenarios
• 🌲 Tackle longer hikes and deeper trail exploration while building stamina and confidence
• 🤝 Develop leadership, communication, and decision-making skills through group roles
• 🧠 Solve challenges that require planning, cooperation, and critical thinking
• 🎉 Participate in camp-wide traditions with age-appropriate responsibility and independence

Program Highlights

• Full-week program: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm
• Location: Heber Down Conservation Park, Whitby, Ontario
• Outdoor-focused programming rain or shine (with weather safety plans in place)
• Activities designed to encourage resilience, teamwork, confidence, and fun

Optional Add-On

• 🍕 Weekly Pizza Day – campers may join the Friday pizza lunch tradition (incl. 2+ slices, a drink and treat)
