The Planets Workshop (3 of 3)
The Planets Workshop
For Kids of all ages (with supervision 7 and under)
Sunday, February 22, 2026, 1:00pm-4pm
Taught by Chiara Di Lello
$10 per class
Kids of all ages are invited to help create planet lanterns, cosmic garlands, and other outer space decorations that will adorn the Howland Cultural Center on February 28th during the Classics for Kids presentation of Gustav Holst's THE PLANETS. Come join us as we create planets, comets, stars and more!
Drop in to single workshops, or register for multiple sessions! All children have the opportunity to work on larger collaborative pieces, like a mighty Jupiter lantern, as well as artwork to take home and bring with them on concert day.
Children 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children ages 8 and up may participate on their own (but must be picked up by an adult when they depart). All workshop sessions are structured as drop-ins: arrive and depart when it works for you, or stay the whole time.
Donations of upcycled materials are welcome.
Please note that payment for this workshop does not include entrance to the Classics for Kids presentation at the Howland Cultural Center.
The Planets Workshop is created in partnership with the Howland Cultural Center and Howland Chamber Music Circle/Classics for Kids. This program is produced in part with the support of the State of New York Office of Children and Family Services upon the legislative initiative of Assembly member Jonathan Jacobson.
