- Topic: Moulding Planes – Joinery Member and seasoned woodworker Michael Gorchov will lead a discussion on moulding planes. Moulding planes predate the power router and are still a viable alternative to power routers of today. Moulding planes allow woodworkers to create crisp, repeatable profiles with a level of control and surface quality that is difficult to match with power tools. They encourage a quieter, more tactile workflow while producing clean details which require little to no sanding. Using moulding planes can also deepen a woodworkers understanding of grain direction and traditional techniques, adding both skill and character to finished pieces.
If you've got a topic idea or would like to present, let us know! Contact info@saratogajoinery.org.
