Throwing a Cake Stand/Dessert Platter, 2 classes of Instruction
*Experience required, students must know how to center 3-4lbs of clay.
In this workshop students will learn how to throw a cake stand or a dessert platter on the pottery wheel. The instructor will demonstrate how to throw the platter and then the base in two parts. The instructor will show techniques and tools to throw each piece. In the second class of instruction, students will learn trimming techniques and how to attach both pieces. Glazing instruction is not included in this workshop but included in the price. Students can return to the studio during open studio hours to glaze their pieces once they have been bisque fired.
Minimum age is 16.
