Course Overview

The Precision Rifle Fundamentals course is designed to develop consistent, repeatable accuracy with bolt-action precision rifles and carbines. This course focuses on refining marksmanship fundamentals, rifle setup, and the practical application of ballistic data to engage targets at distance.

Instruction emphasizes efficiency, consistency, and problem-solving, providing students with a solid foundation for long-range shooting in a civilian training environment.

• Precision rifle safety and range procedures
• Rifle setup, zero confirmation, and optics management
• Natural point of aim and stable shooting positions
• Trigger control and recoil management
• Fundamentals of ballistics and DOPE
• Wind reading basics and corrections
• Engaging targets at varying distances

Recommendation

Attendance at the Bolt Gun Basics course is strongly recommended. Students who have completed Bolt Gun Basics will be better prepared to focus on precision concepts rather than introductory rifle handling.

Equipment Requirements

• Bolt action or Carbine rifle
• Quality optic with adjustable turrets
• Bipod and rear support bag (optional but highly recommended)
• 200 rounds for the rifle 
• Data book or note-taking materials
