RTRFM

The RTRFM Presenter Training Course is designed to teach you the basics of presenting a radio show. You’ll come away with the skills to present, interview, curate and produce a radio program, tailored specifically to presenting on RTRFM. This course is not accredited with a qualification.

On successful completion of the course, you can apply to become a member of RTRFM and will be given the opportunity to present overnight programs. You will be required to present at least three of these programs before being able to move to another show. Please note, RTRFM runs on a collective-based system and the chance to present your favourite show may take some time/is not guaranteed

Course Requirements:

>> You do not need to bring anything for the course, you’ll be provided with a copy of our training manual. 

>> You will be required to have basic computer skills, ie how to use a mouse, how to use basic search engines, how to check emails and use basic computer-based programs.

>> Additional reading and in-studio practice time will be required outside of contact hours for successful completion of the course.

>> Course assessments include a multiple choice written test & and the production of a 20 minute desk test including an interview to showcase your capacity to present a live radio show. This must be completed on time and within the parameters set. If you finish this outside the deadline, your completion of the course could be held up

>> Attendance of all six classes is essential for successful completion of the course. Please make sure you can attend all classes before signing up for a course. 

>> You must be 18 years or older to attend the course and present on RTRFM.

>> The course must be paid for in full before the commencement date. If you need to make payment in instalments, please contact RTRFM to make arrangements.

>> You will be required to adhere to RTRFM’s Code of Conduct while participating in the course.

The date you sign up to is the first day of the course. The course is six weeks long, 2 hours per week on the same day each week. We'll contact you around a week in advance of the course starting to confirm your attendance and provide more information.

Please note that the RTRFM studios are located on the first floor and are only accessible via stairs. Please contact us to discuss any access requirements.

A deposit is required to hold your spot in a course. The deposit is non refundable but can be transferred. Course fees are not refundable or transferable if you withdraw after week 1
