Citizens Safety Academy

The AR pattern carbine is one of the most common and versatile weapons available to the average private citizen or police officer. It is also a weapon prone to shooter induced errors. This intensive course will teach you efficient techniques for handling and shooting the carbine under stressful conditions at realistic ranges likely to be encountered by the armed citizen.

Topics covered include:

• • Firearms safety, including considerations specific to carbine
  • Selection and setup of the carbine
  • Modifications and accessories
  • Nomenclature and mechanical operation
  • Malfunction clearance techniques
  • Loading/reloading techniques
  • Shooting technique
  • Anatomical shooting in relation to the carbine
  • Safe storage and ready conditions

Students will need a functional AR pattern rifle with a sling, 3 magazines, and 500 rounds of FMJ ammo. Red Dots are recommended but not required. If students have any questions about gear, please contact staff before class at Chris@CitizensSafety.com.
