Understanding Your Digital Camera
Tuition: $60
Ages: 13 - Adult
In this hands-on photography class, students will learn how their camera captures images and how to use essential settings and techniques to improve their photography. We’ll break down camera features and functions in an easy-to-understand way, helping students gain confidence shooting in a variety of conditions and styles.
Students will explore how shutter speed can freeze or show motion, how ISO impacts low-light photography, and how aperture controls depth of focus. The class also covers strong photo composition, including the Rule of Thirds, and explores different formats such as landscape and panoramas, portrait, and square compositions.
Lighting techniques will be a key focus, with guidance on working in low light, harsh light, backlighting, and portrait lighting, as well as when and how to use on-camera flash effectively.
This class is ideal for beginners or anyone looking to better understand their camera and take more confident, intentional photos.
