CML Connection Circle
“The Circle is a simple structured process of communication that helps
participants reconnect with a joyous appreciation of themselves and others. It
is designed to create a safe space for all voices and to encourage each
participant to step in the direction of their best self.”
Carolyn Boyes-Watson & Kay Pranis, Circle Forward
If you are longing to connect, share, and be in solidarity with others in our community, then the Connection Circle is for you! Based on an ancient practice grounded in equality, respect, and inclusivity, the Circle process provides a platform for everyone to be heard and acknowledged. In each Circle, we sit together, take turns responding to facilitator-provided questions, and listen. Instead of offering comments, validation, advice, or feedback, we hold space for one another with our non-verbal compassion. Then, we conclude the Circle with a round of appreciations during which each participant has the opportunity to lift up others in the group, something that was said or felt in the previous rounds, and/or themselves.
*On Circle days, please arrive at the Center by 5:45 p.m. and settle in by 6 p.m. In an effort to not disrupt the Circle process, late arrivals cannot be accommodated. The content portion lasts one hour, followed by an optional half hour open interaction.
