We know there is a lot of talent in our district, so we can't wait to meet everyone! Auditions are a great learning experience and we endeavour to make the whole process fun, confidence-boosting and welcoming.
As always, the ultimate outcome of auditions is down to the casting panel on the day. We recognise it can be challenging to manage any inevitable feelings of disappointment or rejection, so if your child is not ready for this, please don't put them forward. Learning about how the industry operates can build resilience, perseverence and motivation to keep on trying, for all aspiring performers, at the right time. You will be deciding if that right time is now, and helping to prepare them for this.
The audition will take the format of a theatre skills workshop on Saturday 27th February at Northern Performance Academy, Harrogate 2pm-4pm. There is no need to prepare as all material will be taught/given in the workshop.
Talent and suitability for the parts will be assessed through tasks and activities designed to make your child feel relaxed, able to contribute and show their abilities and personalities.
Please ensure your child wears suitable non-restrictive clothing for the audition workshop and brings clean trainers or ideally jazz shoes with them to change into. Outdoor footwear will not be permitted in the casting room.
From this workshop, we will recall anyone we wish to take forward for the roles, on Sunday 28th February. Times tbc with individuals.
All the young actors chosen will need to be available for the majority of the rehearsal period and of course, the full run of the production week. As a parent, we also need your full commitment to facilitating this wonderful opportunity for your child.
REHEARSALS ARE PLANNED FOR:
THURSDAYS for Main Roles 6.15-8pm
FRIDAYS for Ensemble
SATURDAYS: 2.30-4pm,
Although we endeavour to stick to these reherasals, some additional rehearsals may be required, reasonable notice will always be given.
PRODUCTION WEEK: Week Commencing 6th July 2026
This Casting Call will be staffed by DBS checked chaperones and the Director, who is also Paediatric First Aid Trained. NPA Productions adheres to robust child protection and safeguarding policies, all of which can be seen on request.
