Tiny Art Workshop Series - 2D Felted Barn Quilts
Join textile artist Molly Hall for a fun tiny art workshop. Molly will take you through the steps of creating your own 2D barn quilt work of art using needle felting techniques. Whether you are a beginner or experienced felter, participants will discover the magic of “painting” with wool fibers. Felting is a great way to unwind and encourage your creativity – come have some fun! No experience necessary!
In this workshop you will learn:
- Overview of needle felting tools & materials.
- How to blend colors and add decorative embellishments.
Cost includes all materials & an assortment of colors/designs will be available. Participants will go home with a needle felted piece mounted on a 4x4 mini canvas with wooden stand. All workshop proceeds will go toward the Radiate Art Space Mural Project.
Age Group(s): Adults, Teens & Kids 8+ (Under 12 accompanied by an adult)
Please be advised that needle felting requires the use of very sharp needles & manual dexterity.
Radiate Art Space Murals are the result of a collaborative process. The 2025 theme of "Quilts and Barn Quilts" was met with creativity by many artists, including students from Richmond area school programs. The quilts are a vibrant addition of color to our Town Center building.
The Sunflower Mural (cover image) was designed by Tim Schonholtz & painted by Sally Vargo, Bailee Montgomery-Noel & Kyle Montgomery. Sunflower is an adaption of a very popular, traditional and familiar barn quilt reminding us of the beauty of nature.
