Hand Building w/ Clay (ages 16+)
Dates: Thursdays, April 9th - May 28th
Time: 5:00 - 7:00 pm

*25-pound bag of clay included. Additional clay needed will be available for purchase.
Students will learn the 3 basic hand-building techniques- pinch, coil, and slab, and create pieces demonstrating each technique. After demonstrating their understanding of each technique, they will then create a final sculptural piece using each hand-building skill. By the end of class, each student will have created 4 pieces to help them advance in their hand-building abilities.
Instructor: Celia Rangitsch
Celia Rangitsch earned her BFA with a 3D emphasis from Brigham Young University- Idaho in 2009. A ceramic sculptor with a passion for storytelling, she draws inspiration from folk and fairy tales, often featuring expressive animal and human forms in her work. In addition to ceramics. Celia is an avid watercolor painter and printmaker, continually exploring new mediums that allow her to bring narrative and imagination to life.
She lives in Great Falls with her husband, their five children, and a small menagerie that includes a dog, a cat, and a bearded dragon. When she can find the time, Celia loves to travel and read.
