Charting Your Next Chapter: Preparing for a Purposeful and Successful Retirement A Panel Discussion with Change Makers Alumni
As retirement approaches, many senior faculty find themselves reflecting on identity, purpose, and the transition from a demanding academic career to a new phase of life. This 90-minute session offers a thoughtful, conversation-based exploration of the human side of retirement, drawing on both lived experience and observed patterns from those who work closely with people in transition.
The session will include a panel conversation with leaders and alumni from the CU Denver Change Makers program, a program for experienced professionals nearing or completing their primary careers and navigating transitions in work and life. Panelists will share perspectives on common themes faculty encounter as they approach retirement, including identity, structure, purpose, and community. Participants will engage in brief guided reflection and small-group conversation.
Whether you envision continued scholarly work, new hobbies, volunteerism, or simply more time for yourself and your family, this session provides a forum for reflection and conversation about the transition ahead. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
