Join visiting artist, Deb Schwartzkopf for a 2 day workshop at NW Ceramics! The workshop is demonstration and hands on. Deb will blend wheel throwing and slab building techniques. Students will experience altering wheel thrown parts and adding slab pieces to create functional pieces. Deb will share her approaches to altering forms and how slight variations can change the outcome. This workshop will offer many examples of working with clay for the wheel thrower and hand builder.
Students will need to be able to center their own clay on the wheel.
$305 for the 2 day workshop, all clay/materials included.
Deb Schwartzkopf is a potter, instructor and author. She has worked with clay for over 20 years and taught nationally and internationally. Based out of Seattle, Deb runs Rat City studios, a community studio. Ceramics Monthly Magazine awarded Deb Schwartzkopf Ceramic Artist of the Year for 2019. She published her ceramics book in June 2020, Creative Pottery features 192 pages of clay working techniques.
