Adirondack Mountain Club

This program is a guided day hike to Hurricane Mountain (elevation 3,694’). This hike is approximately 6.8 miles round-trip with 2,000’ of elevation gain. Please plan on arriving at the Hurricane Mountain trailhead along Route 9N between Keene and Elizabethtown at 8:30am. After introductions and a trip overview, we’ll embark on our journey to this fire tower summit. The trip will be led by a member of ADK’s professional guide staff team. All ADK professional guides are New York State licensed guides, Wilderness First Responders and Leave No Trace instructors.

This trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. Please review our Essential Eligibility Criteria to understand the fundamental requirements for joining an ADK trip. ADK reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual's participation. Prior hiking experience is highly recommended. Good physical condition, proper clothing, and proper equipment are a must.
