American Mahjong 101

(Please arrive a few minutes early to check out the store and get settled in, as the lesson will begin promptly at 6:30)

Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly introduction to American Mahjong. This Mahjong 101 lesson is designed for anyone who’s curious about the game and wants to learn in a fun, no-pressure setting.

Light refreshments, snacks, and dessert will be served. Feel free to BYOB (glasses will be provided).

During the lesson, we’ll start from the very beginning- getting familiar with the tiles, understanding the basic rules, and learning how to read the National Mah Jongg League card. From there, we’ll walk through gameplay step by step and play together so you can learn by actually doing, not just listening.

You’ll leave with a solid understanding of American Mahjong, confidence around the tiles & rules, and a foundation that will help you feel comfortable joining future games.

Everything is provided, so you don’t need to bring anything but yourself. (If you already have a Mahjong card you can bring that with you, but you don’t need one for this lesson)
