Ladies Only Pistol Level 1 - Beginner


  • Women with little to no shooting experience
  • Women seeking a comfortable, female-only learning environment
  • Beginners looking to progress safely to higher-level training

No prior experience required. All instruction is conducted with an emphasis on safety, confidence-building, and skill development


Hour 1 – Introduction, Safety & Mindset (Classroom)

Duration: 60 minutes

Objectives

  • Build a safe, supportive learning environment
  • Eliminate fear and uncertainty
  • Establish safety as the foundation

Topics Covered

  • Course overview & expectations
  • Why women-only training (comfort, pace, communication)
  • The 4 Rules of Firearm Safety
  • Range commands & etiquette
  • Safe gun handling at all times
  • Gear overview (eye/ear protection, ammo, handgun types)

Hands-On (No Ammo)

  • Safe direction awareness
  • Proper firearm pickup and set-down
  • Checking firearm condition (clear / loaded)

Hour 2 – Firearm Fundamentals & Operation (Classroom + Dry Practice)

Duration: 60 minutes

Objectives

  • Understand how pistols work
  • Remove intimidation through knowledge

Topics Covered

  • What a firearm is and how it works
  • Semi-auto vs revolver (basic comparison)
  • Ammunition basics (caliber, components)
  • Controls:
    • Magazine release
    • Slide
    • Safety / decocker (if applicable)
    • Trigger function

Hands-On (Inert / Dry)

  • Loading and unloading (dummy rounds)
  • Slide manipulation techniques (female-friendly methods)
  • Malfunction awareness (tap-rack overview)

Hour 3 – Shooting Fundamentals & Dry Fire Skills

Duration: 60 minutes

Objectives

  • Build correct habits before live fire
  • Increase confidence and consistency

Fundamentals Taught

  • Athletic stance (comfort-focused)
  • Proper grip (strength-neutral techniques)
  • Sight alignment & sight picture
  • Trigger control (press vs pull)
  • Breathing and recoil anticipation
  • Follow-through

Dry Practice

  • Wall drill (trigger control)
  • Sight alignment exercises
  • Draw from low-ready (no holsters)
  • Safe reholstering discussion (if applicable)

Hour 4 – Live Fire Range Session (1 Full Hour)

Duration: 60 minutes

Round Count: ~50–75 rounds per student

Distance: 3–7 yards

Live Fire Progression

  1. Single-round drills
    • Focus on safety and recoil management
  2. Controlled pairs
    • Sight picture and trigger reset
  3. Accuracy drills
    • Slow fire, coaching between strings
  4. Confidence drills
    • Consistent hits on target
    • Positive reinforcement

Hour 5 – Defensive Awareness, Storage & Wrap-Up

Duration: 60 minutes
