Watercolour: Loose and Lively with Gord Jones

Course Overview: This watercolour course encourages spontaneity, creativity and confidence in your painting practice. Through guided exploration, participants will focus on fluid brushwork, intuitive colour choices and embracing the beauty of imperfection. Students will explore key techniques, such as expressive brushstrokes to create lively, dynamic marks, intuitive colour mixing to capture light and atmosphere and relaxed approaches to composition that prioritize feeling over precision. The course also supports the discovery of your personal voice, encouraging experimentation and the development of a unique style. Instruction includes two demonstrations per day, guiding students through the full process from photo reference to quick sketch and into a completed painting. Throughout the course, students will work with landscapes, florals and abstract themes, all while embracing the freedom of a loose, expressive watercolour style. Expect to leave feeling inspired, more confident and energized in your watercolour practice.
