Intro to Cross Country Skiing
Health insurance is required to participate in the program.
Intro to Cross Country Skiing is an introductory program to help you gain an understanding of the equipment, movement, and techniques needed for classic Nordic skiing in variable terrain. We’ll talk about equipment, history of cross-country skiing, backcountry safety considerations, and Leave No Trace, before heading outside for continued instruction in the open-area terrain.
No cross-country skiing experience is necessary! This course is best suited for adults and kids 16 and older. Be prepared to ski in a variety of winter weather. Good physical condition, proper winter clothing, and proper equipment are a must. Skis, boots, and poles will be provided but if you have your own equipment you wish to use, let the instructor know! We encourage participants to learn on gear they are familiar with or will be using in the future.
