Advisory Council for Teacher Education (ACTE) Meeting - Spring 2026

Focus for this meeting:

We want this to be a discussion (not a presentation) centered on how school divisions are supporting provisionally licensed teachers as they work toward full licensure, particularly where you’re seeing the greatest needs, for example Special Education (staffing, onboarding/mentoring supports, and the kinds of university partnership supports that would be most helpful). Below as some specific questions we hope will facilitate our discussion:

• Provisional licensure supports: What pathways/supports is your division using to move provisionally licensed teachers toward full licensure, and what is working best?
• Special Education needs: In Special Education specifically, where are the biggest staffing and support needs right now (licensure areas, grade levels, onboarding/mentoring needs)?
• Funding + partnership supports: What funding/resources are available (or most needed) to support teachers moving off provisional licensure—and what kinds of university partnership supports would be most helpful?
