A 3+ hour, fast-paced introduction to gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), commonly called TIG (tungsten + inert gas). It isn’t as scary as it sounds. If you can solder, you can weld. Plus tons of online resources to continue learning on your own.

In this class you will learn:

• Fundamental concepts of welding, cutting, and brazing
• Different types of welding processes used in industry
• Proper safety attire and safe working practices
• Proper equipment set up & maintenance
• Arc welding carbon steel using the TIG / GTAW process

Plus FREE ONE-ON-ONE COACHING SESSIONS until you feel totally comfortable using the equipment on your own. By appointment to fit your schedule, this follow-up class provides individual coaching, additional practice, and a setup + safety certification test to use the equipment on your own.

General recommended attire for working with hot metal: long pants and clothing made of natural fibers, with boots or closed-toe shoes. A long-sleeved shirts and a cap, bandana, or hair covering is also recommended, but not required. In hot weather, feel free to wear what you want. The first class is mostly demonstration and instruction in proper technique. Near the end, attendees may take turns on the machine to try it out for themselves. FCFL can provide welding jackets, helmets, gloves, and other safety equipment as needed.

Advanced welding techniques include welding aluminum or bronze, resistance-welding, and other fabrication processes.

If you are unable to attend class due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. sickness on the day of class), please contact me as soon as possible and ask to be placed on 'standby' for a future class, should slots be available. No-show or standby requests received less than 4 hours before the class start time may be subject to forfeiture.
