Need Repair or Need Bike (waitlist available)
Several Options (select during signup):
- Is your bicycle broken? We can help. One of our volunteer mechanics will assist you in tuning up your bicycle.
- Do you need a bicycle? We have many bicycles that have been donated to us, but they may need some repair.
Time:
- Please expect to be at the session for the full 3pm-5pm time.
- We can help you fix your bike / get a bike, but it will often take longer than you expect.
- It may take several Sunday sessions to fully complete things.
- If you do not have enough free time, you may want to consider other options (e.g. consider a more drop off based model like at one of Durham’s Local Bike Shops).
Clothing: We have aprons and gloves, but please wear “working-clothes” and closed toe shoes, as fixing up bikes tends to involve grease and dirt.
Masks: The DBC masking policy may be different for different shops/days. Current Sunday policy is: mask friendly / masks optional.
Membership: required to attend!
Yearly membership can be obtained for $30 or volunteering 3 hrs. If you are choosing to volunteer for your membership, you MUST complete your volunteer hours prior to utilizing the co-op’s resources. Otherwise, we will expect a $30 payment for your membership.
Waitlist: please join the waitlist, as our schedule doesn't solidify (ie, we know how many appointments we can support) until closer to the event.
Confirmations: please have a phone where you can receive messages/calls (as indicated in your signup preferences), as we do confirmations of all appointments, and we also confirm any moves from waitlist to appointments. These messages/calls happen in the Thursday-Saturday range.
