Musical Improv Level 2 - Skills Through Practice (Sunday, Mar 22 - Apr 26)
Ready to take your musical improv to the next level? Level Two Musical Improv is where foundational skills become true instincts.
Building on everything you learned in Level One, this class is all about developing real, usable musical tools through repetition, playful experimentation, and lots of time singing in scenes. In a supportive, low-pressure environment, you’ll strengthen your technique, grow your confidence, and start making bold musical choices without overthinking.
In this class, you’ll practice how to:
- Stay on beat and sing with stronger rhythm and musical timing
- Rhyme with confidence, including slant rhymes, flow, and quick wordplay
- Make bold character choices and sing from a clear point of view
- Collaborate smoothly with an accompanist and ensemble
- Explore counter-choruses, freestyle moments, rap flow, and lyrical “lily padding”
- Build solo songs from monologues with clear structure, story, and satisfying endings
What to expect
Classes meet once a week for six weeks and combine warmups, focused technique work, and classic musical improv games designed to build comfort, clarity, and musical intuition.
You’ll be singing often, learning by doing, and applying everything in real time as you prepare for a final student showcase.
If Level One gave you the basics, Level Two gives you the reps and the confidence to trust your musical instincts on stage.
Tune in and Turn Up the Fun!
All classes meet for 2 hours once per week for 6 weeks followed by a showcase. While enrolled, students can see Comedy Arena shows for FREE.
