[member-only] Sewing 101:Beginner Sewing with Hands-On Machine Use

This class familiarizes you with the equipment available in the sewing area at Fat Cat Fab Lab.
Learn the correct (and safe) way to use the machines by getting some hands-on practice sewing.

In this class, the focus is on sewing with our domestic sewing machines, but an overview of the serger/overlock machine, and the pattern projector is given.

The class covers some commonly used sewing terms and an overview of machine sewing capabilities. There is a demonstration of how to thread a sewing machine and a bobbin, how to change the presser foot, and other skills needed for sewing. Also, learn some common stitches and their uses. The class discusses how to troubleshoot some common issues and then finishes with sewing on some scrap fabric!

Supplies for the sewing project will be provided in class.
