Intro to Visual Art
This course introduces the fundamentals of visual art in a fun, supportive, and approachable environment. Students will explore drawing proportionally, from the right side of the brain and concepts of negative space. We will explore perspective, and painting with both acrylic and watercolour. We will also cover the basics of colour mixing and colour theory.
Foundational artistic principles are introduced in a relaxed and encouraging way. All levels of experience are welcome — whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or looking to strengthen your skills!
Week 1: Proportional Drawing
Learn essential techniques for drawing with accurate representation and proportions.
Week 2: Introduction to Acrylic Painting
Bring your drawing to life using acrylic paint while learning basic painting techniques.
Week 3: Perspective Drawing
Discover the importance of perspective and how it creates depth
Week 4: Introduction to Watercolour Painting
Create a nature scene using perspective techniques and watercolour painting methods.
