Centered on foundational jazz skills, this class will introduce improvisation, jazz form, and rhythm section techniques. Rhythm section instruments (drums, bass, piano) will be provided.
Students who wish to bring additional instruments are welcome.
No prior jazz experience is required.
This class will be held on Thursdays from 4:00 pm-4:45 pm. There is a capacity of 12 students per class, and the classes are held as an 8-week-long program! We ask that you please reach out if your student is unable to attend class at any point during the 8 weeks (alyssa@lucslight.org). Doors will open 15 minutes before classes start. Pickup will be at the end of each class.
This 8-week program will start on March 5th and end April 23rd. Students ages 12-20 may join at any time!
