Congratulations! You’ve finished your manuscript (or nonfiction proposal) and you’ve taken the editing process as far as it can go on your own, you need another set of eyes, and you’re ready to start querying agents. But how—and where—to start?
In this four-hour, two-session workshop, we’ll go over how to make the best first impression for yourself and your work by crafting a compelling query letter. We’ll discuss strategies for communicating most effectively about your project, including the value of comp titles and key words to make your query letter stand out. We’ll also discuss finding the right agent for you, go through a mini-writing exercise, and at the end, have an open Q&A about the publishing industry.
