Jewelry Design: Wearable Art

A calm-fun hour class, where students explore the fundamentals of jewelry design—including color stories, balance, proportion, pattern, and texture.

As they create their own rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and anklets, young makers will also discover "bite-size" fashion jewelry history. Each student builds a unique mini-collection for personal wear or gift-giving. All students are invited (not mandatory) to walk the runway wearing their original jewelry creations at our Columbus Fashion Academy Spring Fashion Show on May 17th at CCAD! (They can wear whatever clothes they love and pair them with their newly designed jewelry)

  • Skills Learned: Fine motor skills, design theory, historical context, and creative confidence.
  • Projects: A complete collection of custom wearable art.
  • Materials: All jewelry-making tools and supplies are included. Young designers work with an elevated mix of materials—from genuine stone nuggets, wire, and crystals to colorful glass and accent beads—offering a professional feel for growing creators.
