Mississippi Enhanced Firearms Permit Course
This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. Based on the NRA Concealed Carry curriculum, this comprehensive course covers firearm safety, pistol nomenclature, ammunition knowledge, defensive pistol skills, loading and stoppage remediation, defensive mindset, carry modes and concealment, firearm cleaning and maintenance, and legal considerations specific to Mississippi.
The course includes both classroom instruction and live-fire range work, culminating in a qualification course of fire. Students who successfully complete all course objectives and earn a passing score on the qualification will receive a Course Completion Certificate — the certificate required to apply for and receive a Mississippi Enhanced Firearms Permit.
What to Bring:
- Quality pistol appropriate for concealed carry (minimum 9mm or .38 Special recommended)
- Strong-side hip holster and belt (optional but recommended)
- At least three magazines or speed loaders with appropriate pouches
- Minimum 150 rounds of practice ammunition
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection (electronic recommended)
