Woodturning: Turn a Lidded Box
Spend your day creating a small turned lidded box, perfect for collecting odds and ends, spare change, and compliments from friends and family. One piece of wood turns into both the bottom and the top. A fun project that tests your attention to detail, but there are tricks that help you get there!
Tools Used: Lathe
Experience Level: Beginner to Advanced
Ages: 14+. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Note: There will be a 1/2 hr break for lunch. Please bring something to snack on or grab something quick from a local eatery!
Teacher: John Kingsley
John has over 40 years of hands-on experience in woodworking, from furniture making and restoration, to functional and ornamental turnings. He has been teaching the art of woodturning for over a decade. He holds a leadership role with the Northeastern Woodworking Association and serves as a board member for the Adirondack Woodturners Association. John is also a member of the International Association of Penturners and the American Association of Woodturners. His work is featured in private collections throughout the region.
