Interim Development Director Additional Session (Alumni Exclusive)

For graduates of the Interim Executives Academy, this single-session learning opportunity will adapt the phases and protocols of the IEA to the specific work of an Interim in the Development Department in the nonprofit sector.

We will look at how serving as an Interim Development Director differs from serving as an Interim Executive Director, and what protocols need to be in place to ensure a methodical, transformational approach to an organization's resource development work. From how the interview process for an Interim Development Director will differ from that of the Interim CEO, to the specific goals during the hand-off and onboarding of the successor, we'll explore the six phases and fourteen unique deliverables of an interim development position.

The three-hour session will focus on building stability in the department, so that the successor Director will find a welcoming environment in which they can work successfully. This is a private offering, exclusively for graduates of IEA. Materials will be provided.

We look forward to having you with us!

Please direct questions to Kristin Baur at kristin@thirdsectorcompany.com or Joan Brown at joan@thirdsectorcompany.com.

Registration for this session will close at 5 PM Pacific on Tuesday, June 2. Please reach out to Kristin or Joan if you have questions or need special consideration in registering.

Third Sector Company is committed to advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as foundational to its programs.

We acknowledge and honor the fundamental value and dignity of all people; and we pledge our individual and organizational efforts to build respect, dignity, caring, and equitable treatment for all. As an organization, we are committed to transforming the world into one that promotes social justice and freedom from oppression, including but not limited to, racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, ageism, and ableism.

Thus, we aim to be adaptable, actively anti-racist, embracing cultural differences, and to be accessible for people who are differently resourced and differently abled. Since we do not want financial hardship to be a barrier to participation, there are several seats reserved in each of our fee-based programs for confidentially awarded scholarships. We encourage those from historically underserved communities to apply.

The State of Washington approved Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5814, Laws of 2025, Chapter 422 (ESSB 5814) which makes presentations, including classes, seminars, webinars, and for-fee education presentations a “retail sale” and, therefore, is subject to sales tax beginning October 1, 2025. If you are a resident of the State of Washington, sales tax will be collected at check-out based on your credit card billing address. Interim Executives Academy thanks you for your business and appreciates your extra effort to make sure we all remain compliant with current tax law.
