Next Steps – Advancing a Strong Foundation in the Interim Profession
The Interim Executives Academy launched the 2026 State of the Interim Profession Report at a national webinar on January 21st, providing an insightful look at the growing field of interim executive leadership.
Drawing from practitioner interviews and case studies, the State of the Interim Profession report highlighted the evolving landscape of interim leadership across the nonprofit sector, competencies and standards emerging within the profession, how interim leaders support continuity, equity and long-term sustainability, the expectations and needs of nonprofit boards and staff during leadership transitions as well as the challenges and opportunities facing consultants and interim professionals
We invite you to attend an informative debrief presentation regarding The State of the Interim Profession Report where we will:
- Discuss what especially resonates with us as United Way professionals
- Consider how the recommended strategies apply to our work
- Strategize about how we can continue to build our work as interim professionals
You can access the full report here.
Save the date – the next United Way Interim Executives Co-sponsored event will be held on June 16th
Interim Executives Academy is committed to advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as foundational to its programs.
We acknowledge and honor the fundamental value and dignity of all people; and we pledge our individual and organizational efforts to build respect, dignity, caring, and equitable treatment for all. As an organization, we are committed to transforming the world into one that promotes social justice and freedom from oppression, including but not limited to, racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, ageism, and ableism.
Thus, we aim to be adaptable, actively anti-racist, embracing cultural differences, and to be accessible for people who are differently resourced and differently abled. Since we do not want financial hardship to be a barrier to participation, there are several seats reserved in each of our fee-based programs for confidentially awarded scholarships. We encourage those from historically underserved communities to apply.
