The Impact of AI on Teaching & Learning
Exploring AI as a Partner, a Tool, and a Disruptor in Schools
UPDATE: The May 7th In Person Day is now Open for ALL!
The rapid acceleration of AI continues to change the landscape for our students and our schools. We are opening our May workshop to colleagues across the region to provide a space where we can collaborate, share resources, and plan collectively.
We will use the Vermont AOE guidance to ground our conversations. However, the primary focus is on giving teams the autonomy to work on the areas most relevant to their needs.
Areas for collaboration and planning include:
· The Human Connection: Protecting student-teacher relationships and the social-emotional aspects of learning.
· Personalizing Instruction: Using AI for accessibility and to support individual student interests.
· Workflow and Efficiency: Identifying practical ways to reduce administrative burden for teachers.
· Ethics and Safety: Establishing clear guardrails for privacy and academic integrity.
This is a working session rather than a presentation. Our goal is to share what is working in our buildings and begin purposeful planning for the summer and the start of the next school year.
