Advocacy & Lobbying 101 for Partners
Join The Network: Advocating Against Domestic Violence for a virtual training on advocacy and lobbying! This training is an opportunity for interested managers and leadership from partner organizations who'd like their organization to become more involved in systems advocacy and lobbying work on behalf of survivors and the gender-based violence services sector.
There can often be misunderstanding of whether nonprofits can engage in lobbying -- this session seeks to dispel that perspective, and provide concrete examples of how and why nonprofits can engage in advocacy and lobbying. This session will cover what is advocacy, different types of advocacy, basic rules and restrictions for 501c3s, and how programs can apply this to real opportunities in their communities for advocacy and lobbying.
