Christian Walking Club

Stay in a gem of a retreat house in Lancashire - lovely good quality accommodation and location and run by friendly Christian staff. CWC have sole usage on a full board basis: 2 course evening meal, full cooked breakfast, packed lunches as well as drinks and homemade biscuits and cakes.

Most of the rooms will be available for sole occupancy (allocated on basis of booking date) and all are ensuite as we are restricting the number of attendees to 10 people.

There is plenty of parking at the Centre. The centre is not too far from motorways. The last few miles are country roads, but Sat Nav works well in the area. The nearest main town is Burnley, but you do not need to go into Burnley to get to the Retreat Centre.

Note that Whalley rail station is the nearest one to the retreat centre. Coming from the South, Whalley Station can be reached via Manchester or Preston. Provided notice is given lifts can be available.

Access to the retreat house is from 2pm on 11th May and there will be a short walk available in the afternoon on day of arrival.

The location and walks will mainly be AONB areas. There will be offered at least one walk per day at or below the grade of the event. Generally the lengths of the walks will be of easy grade, however the grade of the event reflects that there may be some ascents, but nothing too excessive. Note that there is one popular walk in the area, ascent up Pendle Hill which, dependent on weather maybe offered, this would be an extra walk choice, as the grade would be Moderate- The programme will depend on the weather and interests of the group. Walks maybe combined with visits to places of interest, e.g. National Trust property.

The CWC event ends on Thursday 14th, however, the centre is running a retreat day, which attendees of this event can take part of with no extra charge. The retreat day is from 10am to 3.30pm, however you would not need to stay for the whole of the event.
