SAFETYBOAT COURSE | 18 & 19 APRIL
Does your club need more skills?
Keep your club sessions safe, smooth, and confidently managed with a Safety Boat course designed for volunteer-led watersports groups. This practical, high-impact training is perfect for anyone supporting sailing, kayaking, or race activities who wants to step up and play a vital role on the water.
Over two engaging days, you’ll develop essential rescue skills—recovering people from the water, assisting capsized dinghies, towing effectively, and handling multiple situations with confidence. Boat handling is a major focus, helping you master close-quarters control, positioning, and decision-making under pressure.
Building on Irish training approaches, the course also introduces basic search and rescue patterns, giving you the tools to respond methodically if someone is missing or out of sight. Prevention is equally important—you’ll learn to read conditions, anticipate risks, and position your boat to stop incidents before they happen.
We cover key safety practices including kill cord use, engine checks, communication, and teamwork during busy sessions.
It’s a practical, confidence-building course that empowers volunteers to create a safer, more capable, and more resilient club environment.
