Watauga Arts Council

Young artists ages 5-7 are invited to explore art inspired by the beauty of nature through our 4-day camp! In this creative mini camp, students will experiment with drawing, painting, collage, and nature printing while observing the world around them.

Weekly Schedule

Tuesday, June 16th - Drawing with instructor Stacey Wilson

• Nature observation and sketching from real life and reference photos

Wednesday, June 17th - Acrylic Painting with instructor Phi Perry

• Acrylic painting practice and landscape paintings

Thursday, June 18th - Collage with instructor Phi Perry

• Build a summery scene out of collage and mixed media

Friday, June 19th - Nature Printing with instructor Stacey Wilson

• Paint and press leaves onto paper to create your own painting guided by nature

Families are encouraged to come at 12pm on Friday, June 19th for a final art showcase, highlighting all the work students made over the week. Students will take home all pieces at the end of the week. Parents are encouraged to pack water and snacks for their kids. Aprons will be available for kids to wear, but we still encourage your child come in clothes they are okay with getting messy.

Weather permitting, some sections of class may be held outside on the picnic table or front porch. Classes will not leave the perimeter of the Arts Council building.

Registration includes all four classes. Single-day packages are not accepted at this time. Supply fee automatically included, all supplies provided.
