Going Public Day Panel 1: Exploring Community-Engaged Scholarship (CCE)
Curious about doing research with experts in our local community to solve community challenges? Looking for opportunities to create a “broader impact”? In this panel, two UR faculty and their community partners will share their community-engaged projects. Topics they will discuss include: how did they build connections with local experts; how do they develop their research questions; and what is the impact of this work both for the faculty member and for the Richmond community.
Panelists:
Stephanie Spera, Associate Professor of Geography, Environment, & Sustainability, University of Richmond
Lisa Aikins-Afful, Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, Southside ReLeaf
Tom Shields, Professor of Education and Leadership Studies, University of Richmond
Following Panel 1, drop-in one-on-one consultations with the facilitators will be available from 11:35 a.m. to 12 p.m.
