This class is a fantastic way to improve fluency and decoding skills for students. Reader's theater is an oral reading exercise that gets children excited to read designated parts in provided scripts. Kids do not need to memorize their parts; they will read their part from the script in a group while acting it out. Kids love it! We will shake it up with lip sync routines, charades, and even the opportunity to create your own short play! Reader's theater teaches beginning speaking skills to kids - without them even knowing. I have seen shy kids and very confident kids delight and thrive in this class. Reader's Theater is appropriate for children who are ages 6 and above. Children should have beginning reading skills to enroll.
