Audition Skills for Trauma Roles (13-17 yrs)

Two Hour Workshop – Saturday, April 18th – In Studio – $155 – Ages 13-17

Auditions involving illness, injury, or crisis can feel intimidating for young actors. These scenes often require performers to portray fear, pain, or high emotional stakes while staying grounded and believable on camera.

In this focused two-hour workshop, students will learn practical, age-appropriate tools for approaching these challenging audition scenarios. Through guided exercises and coached scene work, actors will explore how to communicate distress, urgency, and vulnerability without pushing or overacting while remaining present within heightened circumstances.

Led by Courtney Rioux (Chicago Med) and youth acting coach Anne Acker—both actors and moms—this workshop provides young actors with a supportive, practical approach to challenging material.

Parents are invited to join a short Q&A at the start of class to learn how to best support their child when preparing emotionally demanding material. Each family will also receive video of their child’s work, along with a summary of the material covered and tips for continued growth.
