Makers Camp: The Art of Nature (Ages 8-11)
Young artists ages 8-11 are invited to explore art inspired by the beauty of nature through our 4-day camp! In this creative mini camp, students will experiment with drawing, painting, collage, and clay fundamentals while observing the world around them.
Weekly Schedule
Tuesday, June 23rd - Drawing
- Learn to sketch and draw natural elements and landscapes through observation and reference photos.
Wednesday, June 24th: Experiments in Clay
- Create 'windchimes' using air-dry clay!
Thursday, June 25th: Painting
- Paint a nature-inspired landscape using acrylic paint while experimenting with leaf printing
Friday, June 26th: Collage
- Make a nature-inspired shadow box out of mixed media materials
Families are encouraged to come at 12pm on Friday, June 26th for a final art showcase, highlighting all the work students made over the week. Students will take home all pieces at the end of the week. Parents are encouraged to pack water and snacks for their kids. Aprons will be available for kids to wear, but we still encourage your child come in clothes they are okay with getting messy.
Weather permitting, some sections of class may be held outside on the picnic table or front porch. Classes will not leave the perimeter of the Arts Council building.
Registration includes all four classes. Single-day packages are not accepted at this time. Supply fee automatically included, all supplies provided.
