Absolute Beginner Flamenco Dance Course (5 Weeks)
Flamenco is more than movement — it’s passion, rhythm, and soul.
In this welcoming beginner course, you’ll discover the beauty of this powerful Spanish art form through expressive arms, percussive footwork, and the infectious energy of flamenco rhythms.
Mondays, 6–7 pm | April 13 - May 11
- Transit & Parking: Free street parking nearby on Bayers Road and Oxford StreetsB, bus routes #1 and #8 stop just steps away.
- Driving via bridges: MacKay Bridge: 5–8 minutes (exit to Robie Street) Macdonald Bridge: 6–10 minutes (North and turn right Oxford St.)
No dance experience? No problem. Just bring your curiosity, an open heart, and a desire to move.

Same level: Sevillanas – Wednesdays, 7:30–8:30 pm | April 1–29
Sevillanas is Andalusia's iconic social dance — festive, fun, and the must-know dance at every flamenco event. It's the perfect complement to this course.

What You’ll Experience
- The beautiful movement of the hands and arms
- Rhythmic footwork (zapateado) that builds coordination, strength, and timing
- Clapping and rhythm (compás) — the heartbeat of flamenco
- Basic flamenco steps (marcajes) and simple combinations to tie it all together
- A beginner-friendly choreography to bring everything into motion
👣 Who This Course Is For
- Have never danced flamenco before
- Have less than 6 months of experience and want to build solid foundations
- Are returning to flamenco after a break and want a fresh restart
- Are in a higher-level class and would like extra practice on fundamentals
What to Wear
Wear comfortable clothing — even your street clothes will do! Footwear: sturdy low heels or hard-soled shoes work great. Flamenco shoes are optional at this level. No flamenco skirt required — though you're welcome to dress flamenco-style if it inspires you. All you truly need is energy and enthusiasm.
